Water, engineering, and lessons from the field
I’m Arif Anwar, a water and wastewater engineer based in Bangladesh. My experience spans industrial treatment, water reuse, project delivery, and technical training.
This is where I write about how treatment plants behave after commissioning, what it takes to keep them running, and what those lessons can teach us about engineering judgment. Much of the writing will come from industrial wastewater and water reuse in Bangladesh. Some notes will range further into research, professional growth, and questions I’m still working through.

The Day a Treatment Plant Really Starts
A commissioning test shows what a plant can do under a set of conditions. What happens on the next shift tells us something different.
